I am a full time English Faculty member at the Annandale campus of Northern Virginia Community College, where I have worked since 2001. Before that, I was an English teacher in DC Public Schools and New York City Public Schools, and I am a graduate of the first class of Teach For America.

I hold a Doctor of Arts in Community College Education from George Mason University , a Masters in English Literature from George Washington University, and a bachelors in English from the University of Minnesota. And although I did not graduate, I am a proud member of the VMI’s Class of 1984.

My scholarly and teaching interests are in scientific rhetoric, science fiction literature, composition, and American Literature.
