NOVA and the Northern Virginia Technology Council Release New Workforce Research Report
NOVA Workforce recently partnered with the Northern Virginia Technology Council (NVTC) to develop and release a new report titled “Northern Virginia IT Workforce Succession Planning Best Practices” The report examines regional information technology (IT) employers’ best practices in talent attraction, management, and retention. It is based on in-depth interviews conducted with C-suite executives.
Key findings from the report include:
- employers have a difficult time obtaining and retaining IT talent
- employers are providing innovative benefits to acquire and retain IT talent
- employers are offering robust professional development and mentoring opportunities to entice and retain IT talent
- employers want educational institutions to offer more innovative programs to attract and train workers
The data builds upon the Greater Washington Technology Workforce Needs Assessment reports published by NVTC and NOVA in 2016 and 2018.
