Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service

January 17, 2020 / Our Nighthawks

Faculty & Staff, as you know this Monday, January 20, 2020, we will be closed to observe Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

Our 11th Annual MLK Day of Service has reached capacity for volunteers.  Thank you so much!  . Participants will receive community service participation credit.  This year, we are partnering with the NOVA Financial Stability Program, NOVA Student Life, and Volunteer Alexandria.

January 20, 2020 | 10:00 AM – 1:30 PM
Northern Virginia Community College Alexandria Campus
Center for Design, Media and the Arts
3301 Netherton Drive, Alexandria, VA

Participate in service by learning about continuing the legacy of Dr. King. Ms. Sylvia Cyrus, Executive Director of the Association of African American Life and History (ASALH) will share some insights before we kick off our service projects.

Participate in service by giving:

-Got new hats, gloves, scarfs? Bring them! We will use them to enhance our homeless kits.
-Got juice box packs, bottled water packs, or multi-pack single-serve bottled juice packs? You can bring those too!
-T-shirts will be given to individuals who donate hats, gloves, scarfs or drink packs.

We look forward to serving with you Monday.
