NOVA’s Virtual Advising Expands Hours and Services

You may be familiar with NOVA’s Virtual Advising service. We offer live chat and rapid response email with trained NOVA counselors. We are able to provide advising on demand when students find it challenging or impossible to come to campus. What you may not know is that we recently expanded our hours of operation and some of our services offered! In addition to email with a guaranteed response time of 24 hours or less, we recently expanded live chat availability for students. We are now online Monday thru Thursday from 10 am until 8 pm and Friday from 10 am until 3 pm. (We were previously offline from 2:30pm until 6pm.)

In addition to our new hours, virtual advising now offers virtual appointment options via Zoom teleconferencing. Virtual appointments are available for students to schedule during the weekdays, in the evenings, and on Saturdays. The addition of virtual appointments allows virtual advisors to assist students with completion of SAP appeals and detailed academic planning which are too time consuming to undertake during a text chat. We are still unable to serve probation and dual enrollment students but should be able to assist with most other student situations.
