Career Connection: NOVA’s Career Management System

February 6, 2020 / General NOVA News

Employers regularly seek out NOVA students and are excited to access this great talent pool. Corporate and Workforce Engagement Career Services is the main point of contact for recruiters and businesses to the College as they recruit students for jobs or internships. The Career Services team is also responsible for Career Connection, https://www.nvcc.edu/career-services/career-connection.html. NOVA’s career services management system connects students, alumni, and employers. All recruiting at the College for jobs and internships must be posted in Career Connection to ensure open and equal access to all NOVA students. Once a position is posted, it can be distributed widely across the College and to relevant departments. If you hear from employers who want to offer jobs or internships to NOVA students, refer them to Corporate and Workforce Engagement or send questions to novacareerservices@nvcc.edu. Information about student recruiting at NOVA is also online https://www.nvcc.edu/career-services/Employers.html.

Career Connection is also an excellent resource for students who can access the system at any time online. Using their myNOVA credentials, they can sign in to prepare for job searches and find opportunities for internships and part-time or full-time jobs. Tools allow them to:

  • build resumes and cover letters, with guided hints and templates for all majors
  • record and review practice interviews that can be forwarded to faculty or advisors for feedback
  • search for and apply to jobs and internships directly from Career Connection
  • research career fields and access additional career resources

If you have any questions or would like to discuss ways Corporate and Workforce Engagement can work with faculty and staff to connect students and employers, please contact Dana Fallon at dfallon@nvcc.edu.
