Alex Cooley Earns International Economic Development Designation
Alex Cooley, Administrator, Labor Market Research and Strategic Initiatives at Northern Virginia Community College is now officially certified as a Certified Economic Developer (CEcD). The CeCD is the leading industry designation for economic developers and is administered through the International Economic Development Council (IEDC), the world’s largest professional organization for economic development practitioners. The CEcD program unites the field by establishing a baseline of core knowledge for economic development professionals. To earn the CEcD credential, candidates are required to have four years of full-time economic development experience, participate in six professional development training courses, and pass a comprehensive two-day exam. The CEcD is held by less than 60 individuals in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
