The Northern Virginia Community College hockey team and head coach Barrett Haga have announced the signing of Jennings Compton for the upcoming 2020-21 season.

Compton, a left-handed shooter from Laurens, S.C., played in the Carolina Hockey League and was a part of the Silver Stick Tournament Championship Team. He was also a captain and a member of the Greenville Hockey Association ’93 Team for 6 seasons.

The Laurens, S.C., native played collegiately for the University of South Carolina club hockey team before transferring to NOVA.

“When I decided to go back to school, I wanted a school that had a solid hockey program, small classes, and the chance for me to go almost anywhere when I finished, and I found that at NOVA,” Compton said. “I am extremely excited about the direction of this program and school.”

Compton is the first signing of the 2020-21 campaign, which begins in October.
