NOVA Students at 25th Youth Assembly
NOVA students spent Valentine’s weekend at New York University at the Friendship Ambassador’s 25th Annual Youth Assembly. Alex Obioha (AL), Pamela Orozco (AN), Fariha Rahman (AL), and Jashanpreet Warring (AL) joined other youth from over 70 countries to learn about and take action on global issues of peace, human development, and the environment. Students heard from United Nations representatives, climate activists, young entrepreneurs, World Bank representatives, and academics. Along with over 600 other young people in attendance, NOVA students helped brainstorm a landmark document called the Declaration of Priorities, which will ultimately be presented to an upcoming meeting of the United Nations.
