Kathy Bohnstedt Joins Board of Directors of BEACON for Adult Literacy
Dr. Kathy Bohnstedt, Dean of Learning and Technology Resources at the Woodbridge Campus was recently invited to join the Board of Directors of BEACON for Adult Literacy.
BEACON for Adult Literacy was founded in 1992 by The Benedictine Sisters of Virginia. The nonprofit organization provides English classes and preparation for the U.S. citizenship test for over 400 adult language learners each year with the support of over 130 volunteers. BEACON’s mission is to serve the needs of adult English language learners in Greater Prince William by empowering them to achieve their education and employment goals.

Dr. Bohnstedt will serve a 3 year term on BEACON’s board. In this role she will work to increase BEACON’s visibility within Prince William County, and will help to provide fiscal oversight of the organization as well as working to preserve it’s financial wellbeing.
