Women’s History Month Events…for Online Students

Did you know that NOVA has a Virtual Student Union?
Throughout the month of March, Student Life is hosting various activities within the Virtual Student Union (VSU) to connect online students to Women’s History Month (online.nvcc.edu/studentlife/#vsu).

Women’s History Trivia Quiz 
Students who complete the quiz will have a chance to win a professional Pad-folio to use during job interviews.

Students, faculty, and staff are encouraged to share meaningful quotes by women who inspire them. The quotes are being displayed in the VSU all month long.

HarvardX’s (FREE) Online Course on Women Making History: Ten Objects, Many Stories.  
Students will learn how American women created, confronted, and embraced change in the 20th century while exploring ten objects from Radcliffe’s Schlesinger Library. Directions on how to enroll for free are posted in the VSU. Students who finish the course and send a screenshot to onlinestulife@nvcc.edu will receive a Rocket Book and NOVA Completion Certificate.

The Film movement describes, in her BAFTA award-winning debut feature, Rungano Nyoni crafts a satiric feminist fairy-tale set in present-day Zambia. I AM NOT A WITCH is a must-see for anyone interested in new African Cinema and contemporary female filmmakers.
