Dr. Cynthia Pascal Named Interim Associate Vice President for Student Support
I am pleased to announce Dr. Cynthia Pascal as the Interim Associate Vice-President for Student Support. Dr. Pascal will provide leadership and support to the campuses in key Student Services programs including disability services, academic success, NOVA Cares and Sexual Assault Services(SAS). In addition, she will ensure that compliance efforts are met for domicile appeals, Title IX, ADA, alcohol and drug education, threat assessment teams, code of conduct and the student grievance policy in fulfilling NOVA’s obligations for compliance with federal and state regulations within those programs. This assignment will be in addition to her current role.
Dr. Cynthia Pascal currently serves as the Director of Student Services for NOVA Online. She is responsible for the development, launch, and evaluation of virtual holistic student engagement programs which integrate academic and student support resources. As a member of the Dean of Students Council, she regularly collaborates with all six NOVA campuses.
When not serving the NOVA community, she is a leader, faculty member, and consultant with NACADA: The Global Community for Academic Advising. In partnership with NACADA and The Gardner Institute, she is an Excellence in Academic Advising Fellow who coaches community colleges through process design to enhance student success and retention.
Dr. Pascal earned her bachelor of arts in Education at Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, Washington, and a master of arts in education in School Counseling at Argosy University in Sarasota, Florida. In 2017, she completed her doctorate of education in Counseling Psychology at Argosy University in Northern Virginia.
