NOVACares Office welcomes Teresa M. Bell

Teresa M. Bell joined the NOVACares office as case manager in January, serving as a consultant for the CARE Teams and Threat Assessment Team. Bell is the primary mental health liaison between NOVA and community providers and partners, she assists with developing and providing mental health resources to students and cultivates and delivers outreach programming to the college community.

Ms. Bell is passionate about prevention and early intervention for social, emotional and mental wellness concerns, which present struggles for many. She is driven by partnering with students to address barriers to success in academia, translating to the achievement of individual goals in the many facets of their lives.

She has training and work experience in crisis intervention; individual, group and family counseling; substance abuse counseling; psychiatric diagnoses; case management; psychosocial rehabilitation for those with developmental disabilities; Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT); Cognitive Behavioral Intervention for Trauma in Schools (CBITS) and Anger Coping. She is a certified member of the Prince William County Crisis Intervention Team (CIT).

Bell earned her Masters in Clinical Psychology, Counseling Specialization from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology, and has completed coursework in School Counseling at Loyola University Chicago.

She enjoys cooking, playing 90s video games and making homemade bar soap in her free time.

Teresa M. Bell
