Changes to NVCC.edu Coming Soon

May 18, 2020 / General NOVA News

Over the coming weeks, you’ll begin noticing changes to the website. With a growing reliance on NVCC.edu, we’re discovering the need for an improved user experience. One issue is the volume of content we’re serving—nearly 3,500 pages at one point.

To better focus our content, these are some of the activities you may see:

  • Content consolidation: We’re centralizing information across the website to create single-stop resources for students.
  • Intranet: Some links on the website may start pointing to intranet.nvcc.edu. Content for faculty and staff will begin to be transitioned to this new site so we can concentrate NVCC.edu on student needs. The intranet is still under development and may require some patience, but the goal is to create a presence that mimics the NVCC.edu interface you’re comfortable navigating. Please keep in mind that the intranet is secure and requires VPN access followed by your NVCC credentials.
  • Archiving: Some pages on NVCC.edu are outdated or no longer relevant. In these cases, we’ve created an archive site to remove this content from public view.

We realize that moving content, changing links, and introducing new sites can cause confusion and frustration. However, when we reach the end of these efforts, we will have a website that enables our students to more easily locate important resources and achieve success at NOVA.

If you have any questions during this process or need support with content on the website, please email us at wsdm@nvcc.edu.
