NOVA Honors EMS Educators, Students During National EMS Week

May 19, 2020 / General NOVA News

This is National EMS week, May 17- 23. This week we recognize and celebrate the important contributions of EMS practitioners in safeguarding the health, safety and well-being of our communities.

NOVA’S Emergency Medical Services Program is the oldest accredited Paramedic program in the Commonwealth of Virginia and one of the oldest in the country, and it will continue to provide high quality EMS education for decades to come.

NOVA offers the same National/State certification levels of education for EMT/Paramedic. These credentialing/certification offerings should not be confused with the Career Studies Certificates (CSCs) that are issued by the college (not NREMT or Va. OEMS).

The program offers EMT, Intermediate-to-Paramedic (advanced placement), A.A.S. in EMS (Paramedic), and current Paramedic to Degree options.

Heroes do not wear capes. Heroes are those who rush in, without hesitation, to provide lifesaving medical services. Join me in thanking our EMS Colleagues at NOVA and those EMS practitioners on the front lines. THANK YOU!
