2020 InNOVAtion Grant Deadline Approaching–May 22

May 20, 2020 / Faculty/Staff Highlights

The 2020 InNOVAtion grant cycle for faculty and staff closes at 4 p.m., Friday, May 22. The application can be found on the NOVA Foundation website (giving.nvcc.edu).

Sponsored by the NOVA Foundation, grants of up to $10,000 are available to fund new and innovative ‘One NOVA’ projects and program pilots that are not funded through traditional means. The theme of this year’s grant cycle is: Innovate. Impact. Endure. Each grant submission should address this theme.

To be considered in the 2020-2021 award cycle, proposals must focus on student success: improving student access, enrollment, performance and retention across all NOVA campuses and be consistent with the college’s mission and strategic plan.

Projects must be specific and substantive and show a direct impact on student success. The intent of these grants is to encourage innovation and should not be for pre-existing or ongoing projects or those previously funded by the Foundation. Strong preference will be given to grant proposals that will have a college-wide impact with cross-campus collaboration. All InNOVAtion grant winners will be asked to present at a NOVA Foundation Board meeting in addition to providing regular project updates and impact reports. Please review the application for specifics.

The Foundation InNOVAtion Grants Committee will review applications throughout the month of June. The committee’s recommendations will go to the Foundation Board for final approval and recipients will be notified no later than July 31. Expect funding to begin during the fall semester. Awardees will have one year to complete their projects.

During its 40 years of existence, the NOVA Foundation has granted more than $1M to NOVA faculty and staff in support of innovative projects and programs.
