On-Campus Academic Support Centers Unveil New Webpages

May 28, 2020 / General NOVA News

The Academic Support Centers (ASC) on several NOVA campuses have unveiled newly-redesigned webpages for their tutoring centers. While the NOVA Tutoring website lists important contact information for individual ASCs on every campus, students and instructors can access a variety of free resources and information through their on-campus tutoring center webpages, including tutor schedules, useful handouts, videos, educational software, workshops and more.

ASCs on each campus are here to provide additional academic support to NOVA students. That support is focused on a diverse group of peer tutors that mirror the campus student population. The ASCs facilitate student success through improved study and academic skills. The tutoring centers seamlessly transitioned online in March and will continue to provide one-on-one tutoring remotely through the summer. Students can request an appointment with a tutor on any campus in a variety of ways:

  • complete an Online Tutoring Request Form, the links to which can be found either on the college tutoring webpage or through the individual ASC webpages;
  • send an email to tutoring@nvcc.edu, which is monitored by ASC coordinators who are quick to respond to questions or requests.
