NOVA Student Services Launches Nighthawk News
NOVA Student Services is excited to announce the launch of the Nighthawk News! Nighthawk News is a newsletter dedicated to students that will be published bi-monthly to provide students with timely and up to date information. It will have all things NOVA that pertain to what students will need to know for summer and the upcoming fall semester. Articles published will include updates on NOVA operations, college resources, student success workshops, student highlights and important dates to remember. Student highlights will be featured stories by students for students.
The inaugural edition was published Thursday, June 11, and featured NOVA’s plans for fall 2020, as well as a message from NOVA President, Dr. Anne Kress, titled ‘What Can We Do’? Other highlights included information on FAFSA Week, Single-Stop workshops and a valuable NOVA libraries resource guide on issues of race and diversity, “Antiracism: A Guide to Stories, Perspectives, and Connections.”
A huge thanks to Charlene Wilkins (Community Outreach-Woodbridge) for donating her time and support in creating this newsletter. Thank you also to the various colleagues from across the college that also contributed to this edition and who we hope will continue to contribute for future editions. It is these collaborative and inclusive efforts that will make Nighthawk News the number one resource for students.
