Woodbridge’s Class of 2020 Send Off
After a graduating student leader asked if there would be a celebration for graduates at the end of the spring term, the Office of Student Life at the Woodbridge Campus began to create their Class of 2020 Send Off. The goal was to create an opportunity for the campus community, family, and friends to recognize and celebrate the Class of 2020 in a way that was both thoughtful and timely. The event featured remarks from NOVA President, Dr. Kress; Woodbridge Provost, Dr. Sam Hill and outgoing SGA President, Hailey Lanford. These greetings were followed by individual recognition of each graduate. The full program included words of gratitude from the Class of 2020, quotes that inspired them throughout their academic journeys, information about their next steps beyond NOVA, and pictures of their smiling faces. To close the event, real-time remarks were given by Dr. Kress, Dr. Villagran-Glover, Dr. Hill, Dean Turner and Dean Thimblin. The event was well attended and enjoyed by students, faculty, staff and administration alike. The event in its entirety can be viewed here, “Woodbridge Class of 2020 Send Off” (drag the progress bar below the video to 16:10 to begin).
