Virginia Transparency in Learning & Teaching (TILT) Initiative: Call for Research Partners
The Virginia Educational Development Network, in partnership with the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia (SCHEV), is planning a cross-institutional educational development initiative and applied research project on transparent assignment design. We would like to invite scholars (including advanced graduate students) who are interested in equity in teaching and learning to join the research team. We especially need a person/persons with strong quantitative analysis skills. Planning for the research project is underway, but it is still in its early stages. Incoming members of the team, therefore, have an opportunity to shape the specific research questions and design of the study. Members of the team may focus on a particular piece of the research (for use in a dissertation, for example), but all members are expected to work together toward the overarching goal of the project, which is to understand better the potential role of transparent assignments in addressing equity gaps in higher education.
Please contact Breana Bayraktar (bbayraktar@nvcc.edu) if you have any questions about the initiative or for more information. To be considered, please submit a brief statement of interest along with a CV or resume by Friday, Oct. 9, 2020.
