Dr. Sabrina Ricks: Contributing Author in New Handbook
Dr. Sabrina Brandon Ricks is a contributing author to the Handbook of Research on Cyberbullying and Online Harassment in the Workplace that was just released this week. Her contributing chapter is titled “Understanding Cyberbullying and Where We Go from Here.” Dr. Ricks experienced workplace bullying firsthand at multiple organizations, which led to her passion to research and write about this topic. She completed her doctoral program in 2015 at Capella University after completing her dissertation, Witnesses of U.S. Workplace Bullying: A Phenomenological Study of Organizational Culture, Leadership and Unsafe Environments. In the same year, she opened SBR Workplace Consultation Services, where she serves as president. SBR Consultation Services’ mission is to prevent bullying in organizations and create better workplaces. Dr. Ricks has spoken nationally and supported organizations throughout the country by offering trainings, workshops and creating policies and procedures. Finally, Dr. Ricks is an adjunct professor in business and public service at NOVA as well as in student development. She teaches at the Annandale and Loudoun campuses.
