The Search is On! Asia Society Center for Global Ed is Seeking IT and MEDICAL EDUCATION faculty to internationalize curriculum.

NOVA is partnering with the Center for Global Education at Asia Society (CGE), a national non-profit that prepares students for work in the global economy. CGE has received funding to assist community college CTE (Career and Technical Education) faculty and adjunct faculty with internationalizing their curriculum. This new project will create, pilot, evaluate and disseminate free online and in-person professional development resources and accompanying tools. It will also create in-person professional development workshops as well as modules and content for students. There is a shortage of IT and Medical Education faculty. We need you!

The Center for Global Education is seeking interested CTE faculty (full-time and adjunct) who would like to be involved in this project through any of the following ways:

Advisors/Content Reviewers: During the last week of October, CGE will virtually convene groups of CTE faculty interested in giving input into draft outlines for the online professional development modules and the student modules. If interested, you would need to review materials in advance and participate in a 60- to 90-minute-long virtual roundtable discussion. (About a 2.5-hour time commitment total). Faculty from any of the CTE pathways are welcome to participate, but CGE is especially seeking representation from Architecture, Construction, Education, Health, Human Services, IT, Corrections and Manufacturing. See all 16 pathways Here.

Internationalized course curriculum examples: Through February of 2021, CGE is seeking examples of internationalized courses or stand-alone lessons/projects being taught with a global perspective in community college CTE programs to highlight as part of the training materials. Again, examples are being sought for courses in any of the CTE pathways, but especially from Architecture, Construction, Education, Health, Human Services, IT, Corrections and Manufacturing.

Pilot participants: Finally, CGE is looking for faculty interested in being part of the pilot process to review the professional development modules in August of 2021 or piloting the student module during fall of 2021.

If you are interested in participating in the project in any of these ways, please reach out directly to Leeza Fernand, associate director of international education,  lfernand@nvcc.edu.
