Domestic Violence Awareness Programming in October

October 8, 2020 / Events

We hope that you will join us for two important programs this month that bring much-needed awareness to the subject of domestic violence in our communities.

On Thursday, Oct. 15, 5 p.m., Dr. John Kling will discuss the Give Back a Smile program and the work his office does with survivors of domestic violence in the Northern Virginia Community.

On Oct. 21, 1 p.m. until 3 p.m., a Resource Fair will feature many local domestic violence resources and valuable information for our students and staff.

“The American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD) Charitable Foundation’s Give Back a Smile (GBAS) program connects adult survivors of domestic and/or sexual violence, who have received dental injuries from abuse, with volunteer cosmetic dentists who donate their time and services to restore smiles. Dental services are available throughout the United States. Since the program’s 1999 inception, more than 1,800 people have had their smiles restored through the Give Back a Smile program.”
