NOVA Undertakes Search for VP, Chief Academic Officer

NOVA has begun the search for The Vice President and Chief Academic Officer (CAO) provides strategic and operational leadership for NOVA’s academic programs and ensures that all academic programming and services reflect the college’s mission, values, and commitment to equity, excellence, and student success. This position is responsible for the consistency, quality, and integrity of academic programs across NOVA’s six campuses, NOVA Online, and partner concurrent enrollment high schools and other delivery sites. Working collaboratively with college faculty, deans, and campus provosts, this position plans, develops, implements, and evaluates the college’s overall transfer and technical education curriculum. The Vice President and CAO works with campus provosts and academic deans to design and deliver an efficient, responsive, and unified academic schedule that meets the needs of NOVA’s student population and supports the college’s strategic enrollment goals. This position also initiates, manages, and assesses academic services, practices, and policies that address student needs, promote equity in their success, and anticipate changes in the higher education landscape. The Vice President and CAO originates and sustains secondary and university partnerships and collaborates with the Vice President for Strategic Partnerships and Workforce Innovation to achieve alignment between the college’s technical education programs and industry needs. This position reports directly to the President and serves as a member of Administrative Council.
