A Note from the Governor

November 25, 2020 / HR News/Training

Dear Fellow State Employees:

December marks the last month of a truly amazing year. Virginians have shown their noble mettle through tough times and prosperous ones. I can’t help but reflect on all the good we have accomplished together this year and how in troubling times we have been able to lean on each other. Last month at the charity fair, I shared with you how your generosity in the 2019 Commonwealth of Virginia Campaign (CVC) helped provide for the truly unforeseen events of 2020. As we enter the final month of the campaign and the year, I want to thank you all for the many hours of volunteering you have put in and all the money you have raised. Every penny counts, and helps; so if you haven’t had a chance to participate yet, there is still time to make a difference.

Also in December, CVC will be featuring two virtual charity fairs where you can learn about nonprofit partners who focus on the areas of HIV/AIDS, human rights, children, and animals. I urge you to learn more about causes that interest you by attending a few of the brief five minute presentations offered by these high-impact organizations.

CVC Virtual Charity Fairs

Thursday, Dec. 3, from 11:55 a.m. – 1 p.m.
-Featuring: A special opening presentation at 11:55 am, and at 12 pm presentations from charities focused on HIV/AIDS, human rights and various other causes
-Register Here. Check the Presenter’s Schedule

Thursday, Dec, 17, from 11:55 a.m. – 1 p.m.
-Featuring: A special opening presentation at 11:55 a.m., and presentations from charities focused on children, animals and various other causes at 12 p.m.
-Register Here. Check the Presenter’s Schedule

I hope you can attend at least one of these last two events to learn more about what CVC nonprofit partners are doing to make a better tomorrow.

And don’t forget the 2020 CVC Statewide Silent Auction is in full swing. Learn more about how you can donate items, bid on items and five ways to give to a CVC charity at www.cvcgives.org/.

Thank you,

Governor Ralph S. Northam
