OIESP Seeks Virtual Hosts for Humphrey Fellows

December 16, 2020 / General NOVA News

This will be NOVA’s seventh year partnering with the Institute of International Education (iie) and the U.S. Department of State in administering the Community College Residency Program.

The Hubert Humphrey Fellowship Program brings young and mid-career professionals from designated countries around the world to the United States for a year of non-degree graduate-level study, leadership development and professional collaboration with U.S. counterparts.

The Humphrey Fellows Community College Residency Program (CCRP) is a way to offer participating Humphrey Fellows exposure to a unique aspect of the American higher education system and the opportunity to make personal and professional connections in a new area of the United States. As part of the professional development aspect of the program, the selected Fellows will be virtually visiting Community Colleges across the nation.

The Office of International Education and Sponsored Programs is seeking NOVA faculty of any discipline who would like to host one or more Humphrey Fellows virtually this coming spring. This unique opportunity will also bring with it a chance to collaborate with various community colleges on a virtual introductory session for all Humphrey Fellows that provides an overview of the community college model with a focus on mission, students served and workforce development.
