Final Day: Please Consider Giving Through 2020 CVC

December 18, 2020 / HR News/Training

The 2020 Commonwealth of Virginia Campaign (CVC) began on Oct. 1 and will run through Dec. 18. Throughout the campaign, faculty and staff will have the opportunity to support a wide range of human service and support agencies throughout the region. Employees may support one or more agencies through payroll deduction or can make a one-time cash or check donation. This is a great opportunity to support organizations whose mission you want to advance, and no donation amount is too small. For as little as $2 per day, you can make a difference by donating to one of the more than 947 available charities. Remember, it’s not what we give, it’s that we give!

You can access the listing of charitable organizations online here: https://covc.force.com/findacharity/s/ where you will find the various activities supported by the CVC to include detailed information on how charities are chosen, FAQ’s, success stories and more. Employees may make their selections online by simply clicking DONATE. Donations may be designated for one specific charity or multiple charities throughout the region. Once the campaign period ends on Dec. 8, 2020, pledged donations through payroll deduction will begin with the Jan. 16, 2021 pay period.

This year, more than ever, we see and hear news of the immense and immediate needs within our community. The CVC is the one statewide activity each year when our entire college community can work as a team by supporting a wide variety of organizations that improve the quality of life for people in the communities where we live and work.  Whether you use payroll deduction or make a one-time gift, all contributions make a difference. I am confident that NOVA will do its part to help those who count on our support because we are NOVA strong!
