Steve Sachs, VP of Instructional Support and IT, to Retire after 40 Years
Dr. Steve Sachs has spent more than 40 years in service to NOVA in positions ranging from instructional designer for distance learning courses to vice president of instructional Support and information technology. He has been a state-wide and national leader in the use of technology to improve teaching, learning and administrative activities in the community college.
During his tenure at the College, NOVA was consistently ranked in the top five digital community colleges as recognized by The Center for Digital Education. In 2014-15, NOVA ranked first among digital community colleges and subsequently received the 2016 Collaborative Citizenship Award from the Education Advisory Board. These distinctions are in large part due to the work and expert knowledge of Steve Sachs. His historical knowledge of the field, his dedication to NOVA and to the VCCS, his broad expertise in all matters related to information technology and his deep commitment to student success and the community college mission are unparalleled.
As he retires this month, he will leave a lasting legacy for NOVA and its students with a scholarship established in his name, The Steve Sachs Online Scholarship. If you would like to donate to the Sachs Scholarship, please select that from the gift designation on the online donation page. Click Here for details.
Thank you, Steve, for your many years of dedicated service to NOVA.
