Loser-Savkar Faculty Fellowship Application Deadline, Feb. 1
The Northern Virginia Community College Educational Foundation and retired NOVA faculty members Reva A. Savkar and Robert C. Loser are pleased to announce the call for proposals for the 2021 Loser-Savkar Faculty Professional Development Fellowship.
Excellent college teaching requires both content knowledge and knowledge of how to teach that content effectively. The mission of the Loser-Savkar Fellowship is to provide opportunities for faculty to learn how to teach more effectively. The program awards up to $1,000.00 to full-time NOVA teaching faculty members in support of their professional development for enhancing their teaching effectiveness.
Requirements:
- NOVA full-time 9-month teaching faculty are eligible. Previous fellowship winners and selection committee members are ineligible.
- Applicants must submit a proposal for consideration.
- Selected fellows must submit a final report of 1-3 pages summarizing (1) what they did, (2) what they learned and (3) how they applied what they learned to enhance their teaching effectiveness.
- The fellowship award may be used for tuition, conference registration, resource materials, time and travel expenses described in the proposal.
Number of Fellowships Offered: One (1) fellowship per year
Value of Each Award: Up to $1,000.00
