NOVA Receives CASE District III Silver Award for Visual Identity Program

February 1, 2021 / General NOVA News

The CASE District III award programs recognize the very best in advancement across the Southeast. NOVA’S Marketing department submitted an entry for its NOVA “Mosaic” brand system and received the Silver Award!

The Mosaic is a modular identity system that represents the rich diversity of students, offerings and opportunities that exist at NOVA. It represents our brand pillars:

  • Springboard to Opportunity
  • Experts in the Classroom and Field
  • Relevant and In-Demand Education
  • Big School Experience, Small School Feel
  • Real-World Diversity
  • Outstanding Value

And our College’s personality traits:

  • Confident, even a bit Defiant
  • Secure and Established
  • Direct
  • but also
  • Warm
  • Sincere
  • Clever and Good Humored

This graphic kit equips NOVA with templates to be used for any number of branded materials, as well as the individual components and guidelines to create new materials. The Mosaic has been successfully applied to our website, digital marketing, internal and external communications, signage, promotional materials and more. Attached are several examples of the mosaic templates and the guidelines for using them.

The objectives of the mosaic project were to provide an easy-to-use visual brand system that is still highly effective and to ensure its proper implementation. We have since worked to review how the system is being implemented, specifically tracking proper usage and how many units and campuses are adopting the system. While the COVID crisis has crimped our measurement efforts, anecdotal evidence shows strong adherence to the new system and a positive response from the NOVA community about the ease of using the mosaic system.
