Forty-Four Silly Love Songs to Prepare You for Valentine’s Day
With a week left until Valentine’s Day, I am happy to share the NOVA SillyLoveSongs playlist. This is an alphabetical list of songs, and you can find the entire playlist on Spotify: 44 songs that make up almost 3 hours of music!
My thanks to all who submitted their favorite love songs and congratulations to Lesley Nyborg, whose song (“Follow You, Follow Me”) was lucky 14 on the alphabetical list. She’ll be getting a sweet treat in the mail.
Fun facts about the list:
- There were no duplicate songs submitted.
- The list includes a song in Portuguese.
- The list includes a song by a Muppet.
- Three artists placed twice on the list: Phil Collins (solo and with Genesis), Elvis Presley, and Frank Sinatra.
- Apologies to the individual who submitted a Garth Brooks song. Nothing by Mr. Brooks is on Spotify; he has an exclusive deal with Amazon Music. The things one learns writing the Monday Message!
- And, like so many of us, some of you think one of the repeated lyrics in your favorite song is its title. I did some sleuthing for a couple of the submissions—all in the name of love.
I hope you enjoy these songs and have a happy and safe Valentine’s Day!
(PS: The Monday Message will be on break February 15—my Valentine’s Day gift is the chance to spend a week with my family.
