Consider Serving on NOVA’s Forum Councils

February 17, 2021 / Faculty/Staff Highlights

The Elections and Credentials Committee is revving up for the March Forum Council elections, and we encourage you to consider serving on NOVA’s College Forum for the 2021-2022 academic year.

The College Forum is composed of the Forum Councils, the College Senate and the College committees. Forum Councils share a valuable role in representing and supporting our diverse campus communities and having a voice in important matters relevant to the College constituencies.

Forum Council Quick Facts:

  • There is one council for each campus and one for College Staff not reporting to a campus.
  • The councils represent full time and adjunct teaching faculty, administrative faculty, professional faculty, classified staff and students.
  • One term is two years.
  • Meetings are held once a month during the 9-month academic year (day/time varies by council).
  • Forum Council members are also selected to serve in the College Senate. Senate meetings are held on the third Thursday of each month from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. during the 9-month academic year.

If you missed it during spring convocation, check out what some current and former Forum Council members have said about serving.

We will be announcing a call for nominations soon so consider nominating yourself or encourage a colleague to run. For questions, email your Elections and Credentials representative listed below.
