NOVA’s Forum Councils Call for Nominations is Open!
The Elections and Credentials Committee is actively seeking nominations to fill Forum Council vacancies for the 2021-2022 academic year. The Forum Councils, along with the College Senate and the College committees create NOVA’s College Forum. Our Forum Councils share a valuable role in college governance by representing and supporting our diverse campus communities and having a voice in important matters relevant to the College constituencies. Forum Council Quick Facts:
- There is one council for each campus and one for College Staff who do not report to a specific campus.
- The councils represent full-time and adjunct teaching faculty, administrative faculty, professional faculty, classified staff and students.
- One term is two years.
- Meetings are held once a month during the 9-month academic year (day/time varies by council).
- Forum Council members are also selected to serve in the College Senate. Senate meetings are held on the third Thursday of each month from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. during the 9-month academic year.
Your elections representative can provide specific information on your forum’s vacancies and when the meetings are held. Please note that some Forum Councils may not have vacancies for all positions.
The deadline for nominations is Tuesday, March 9.
Interested in running? Email your elections representative with “Interested in Forum Council” in the subject line. You may only self-nominate. Include your full name and your employee classification (full-time or adjunct teaching faculty, professional or administrative faculty, classified staff, or college staff).
