RNAG Update

April 14, 2021 / General NOVA News

The Return to NOVA Advisory Group met again on April 7. The following summarizes this meeting:

  • The RNAG re-affirmed that college public health guidelines during the transition back to NOVA will continue to follow those outlined by the Governor’s office, with the recognition that these guidelines are subject to change.  The college community will be kept informed about changes as they occur.
  • The planning for the return to non-instructional spaces is in progress.  Meetings with stakeholders will identify hours of service for certain service areas/offices.  Those discussions will begin this month and continue into May.  The existing guidance from VDH/CDC/OSHA/DHRM and the needs of all campus divisions and departments will be heard and considered in determining appropriate space set-up requirements.
  • The RNAG discussed the impact of the planned fall hours of operations for certain student-facing service areas, such as the libraries and other student services. Some offices will continue to have both virtual and in-person services, and the focus of NOVA will continue to be on providing the services and options our students need to be successful.
  • Additionally, members were given a high-level overview of virus cases by state and locale and in an effort to track Virginia’s progress and how that will affect the planning process.
