Today! Contextualizing Anti-Asian Violence in the Age of COVID
Four NOVA faculty members will discuss the rise of anti-Asian violence over the course of the pandemic. Held today at 4 p.m., this event will discuss the heightened violence that has been increasingly targeted toward diverse and minority populations. For those in the Asian American community this is sadly not the first time these types of issues have impacted them or our country.
In the interest of furthering Inclusive Excellence, we invite faculty, staff, students and members of the community to attend this important educational panel to learn more about the pain and history of discrimination against Asian Americans as well as how we can grow as one community to respond to moments of injustice.
Presenters:
- Elisabeth Chan, associate professor of ESL
- Sue Jean Cho, professor of History
- John Min, professor of Economics
- Alexander Purugganan, assistant professor of English
