Today! Gaming for Good

Join us, as faculty and staff play games to raise money and awareness for communities in need of education support and opportunities. Prizes available from locally owned Uyghurs businesses!
Lifting Lives, and the NOVA Student Chapter especially, is dedicated to assisting communities in need with educational opportunities. Club President Baierna Alimu, who identifies as Uyghur, has been working with other Uyghur refugees in Turkey who wish to learn English and other needed skills, but these communities need technical resources. Baierna has dedicated our Student Club Fundraising efforts this year to help this community and raise awareness more generally about the Uyghur crises. She has also been working with organizations within the larger Northern Virginia community and beyond to bring into focus the crisis facing Uyghurs and their community.
For more information about the club or event, please contact Faculty Student Club advisor, Professor Bethanie Perry (bperry@nvcc.edu).
