Faculty-Led Learning Through Travel: Destination India, May 4

Many of us can’t wait until the pandemic slows and we are able to travel again. Join our faculty as we travel the world virtually. For our first faculty-led armchair trip we will be transported to India with Professors Meena Nayak and Rashmi Chilka.

Meena Nayak’s talk, “Images of India,” will present images that speak not just of its millennia of history, but also of its everyday life. Nayak is a professor of English at Loudoun Campus. She is also a scholar of Hindu mythology and an author.

Rashmi Chilka, in her talk “Understanding India through Travel,” will focus on the diversity of India with an underlying mat of common threads. Chilka is a professor of History at the Annandale Campus. Her interest is on the impact of nationalist slogans on landlord-labor relations in India.
