Governor’s Executive Order on Temporary Gas Shortage

Dear NOVA Community,

On Tuesday, May 11, Governor Northam issued an Executive Order in response to the temporary shut-down of the Colonial Pipeline. Across our region, panic-buying of gas has unfortunately compounded the interruptions in supply due to the cyber-attack on the pipeline. Simply put, you’re likely finding that most gas station pumps are not in operation and the stations that are open have very long lines.

I encourage any employee with concerns about their ability to drive to and from work due to the temporary gas shortage to consult with their supervisor and arrange to work from home through Friday, May 14. 

All indications are that the supply issues should be remedied by the weekend.
