Manassas Vaccine Clinic a Success with 256 First, 182 Second Doses Given
We all know the importance of “getting back to normal” and the COVID-19 vaccine is our best shot to accomplish this goal.
NOVA’s Office of Emergency Management and Safety was successful in planning the logistics of working with the Manassas Campus and the Prince William County Health District to provide vaccinations. The clinic was hosted in the Manassas Campus Trailside 2 building and supported by the Prince William Health District. Setting up these clinics is no small task. Multiple meetings, site-visits and discussions must take place prior to a decision being made about how to operate the clinic. Signage, parking, cleaning and medical waste disposal must all be taken into consideration when operating a clinic, if even for a single day. A special thanks to AVP Cory Thompson for his efforts to make sure we had the material and support needed for the clinic.
Prince William Health District workers were able to administer 256 first doses of the vaccine approximately three weeks ago, and 182 second doses on Monday afternoon.
The Office of Emergency Management would like to thank the Manassas Campus staff and the Prince William County Health District for the efforts to provide vaccinations for everyone, and give a special shout-out to Hayley Holmes, Manassas OEMS Coordinator for her efforts in making sure this clinic was successful!
In our continuing effort to provide a vaccination for anyone who wants one, NOVA OEMS and College Administration is working closely with the Department of Education and Walgreens Pharmacy to provide additional doses of the vaccine for students, staff, faculty and friends of NOVA. Please keep an eye on the Daily Flyer for additional information as we schedule more on-campus vaccine clinics.
Remember, “Take your best shot!”
