NOVA HR has conducted several searches over the last few months, and we are happy to share that we have selected great talent to join our team.

Tiwana Barnes, JD is our associate director for compliance and NOVA’s new ADA coordinator. Tiwana also will handle EEO concerns and manage our internal compliance initiatives. Tiwana comes to us with a decade of experience in higher education and city government, serving in similar capacities at George Mason University and California’s Humboldt State University. She also has held similar roles with New York State Department of Education. Tiwana received her bachelor’s degree from New York University and her law degree (JD) from Touro College in New York.

Daniel Kaufmann, JD is our associate director for employee relations and NOVA’s new manager of employee relations. Dan will oversee the day-to-day operations of employee relations and performance management. Dan comes to us with a decade of experience in higher education and health systems where he has held similar roles, and he has several years of experience working in a community college setting. Dan received his bachelor’s degree from the State University of New York at Geneseo and his law degree (JD) from the State University of New York at Buffalo Law School.

Additionally, NOVA HR has hired two new senior employee relations specialists, Herbertia Gilmore and Joyce Dolo. Both come to us with the experience to add value to our team. Also, Susan Petrovich has been selected as our Faculty Credentialing Specialist after serving in the role as a P-14 for over a year.

Please join us in welcoming these talented folks to the HR team. We are excited to have everyone on board, and we look forward to making great strides in providing HR guidance and coaching to our workforce.
