NOVA to Introduce Chordeiles, a New Interdisciplinary Science Journal by Students

June 22, 2021 / General NOVA News

This fall NOVA will introduce Chordeiles, an interdisciplinary science journal run by NOVA students for the NOVA community, and we will be seeking students to get involved!

Chordeiles is an online journal that will accept research, scholarly articles, creative writing and other types of science-related submissions, produced by NOVA students. We will begin in the fall of 2021 and accept submissions on a rolling basis.

What we will accept? Original research, poems, essays, multi-media, video and any other publishable material from across the disciplines. While work must be produced by NOVA students, it is possible to be published after a student has transferred.

Who can get involved? All NOVA students from ANY discipline and ANY campus, can submit their work. Any NOVA student interested in peer reviewing submissions, editing and working on web-site functionality should keep an eye out for opportunities posted early in the fall semester. Faculty wishing to guide their students to publication are also strongly encouraged to get involved.

When can students get involved? More information will be sent out in late summer/early fall.

How can faculty be involved?  Faculty can create assignments that support original research or any kind of science-related writing or multi-media. Poems, art, videos with a science angle, can be assigned and eventually submitted for publication.
