NOVA Seeks Interim AVP for Academic Affairs
NOVA congratulates Associate Vice President (AVP) Sheri Robertson on her new role working with the VCCS as the Associate Vice President for Academic and Workforce Policy. With Dr. Robertson’s move to this new role, NOVA is seeking an interim AVP for Academic Affairs to serve from approximately July 10, 2021 to December 31, 2021.
The interim AVP must hold at least a master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution. In addition, the interim AVP must have at least three years of progressive administrative responsibility, including responsibility for curriculum development and oversight, academic policies, and personnel supervision.
The interim AVP will report to the Vice President and Chief Academic Officer. Acting pay, in accordance with VCCS policy, will be provided for the duration of this appointment.
NOVA employees who meet these qualifications, understand the requirements and wish to be considered for the role of interim AVP for Academic Affairs should submit a one-page letter of interest to Jennifer Kasse-Wanzer in the Office of Academic Affairs Office no later than COB on July 1, 2021. Please include the subject line “AVP for Academic Affairs” in your email. The interim AVP will be selected and appointed by the Vice President and Chief Academic Officer from the pool of qualified individuals expressing interest.
Please Note: This announcement does not constitute or replace the full search for the next AVP for Academic Affairs. A national search based on the complete EWP for this position will be conducted by NOVA during the fall 2021 semester. The interim AVP is eligible to apply. The expectation is that the successful candidate in the national search will begin their appointment as AVP for Academic Affairs no later than January 2022.
