Annandale English Prof. Named to CCCC National Webinar Committee
Steve Lessner, associate professor of English at the Annandale Campus, was chosen by the Conference on College Composition and Communication (CCCC) to serve as a committee member for their newly formed Webinar Committee. The CCCC Webinar Committee runs a series of webinars each calendar year focusing on innovative pedagogical practices for teaching writing at the college level for its members and interested public. Responsibilities of the committee for each webinar include writing and circulating themed calls for proposals, evaluating submitted proposals, selecting scholars to present, advertising each webinar and recruiting attendees. The webinars are also viewed as a space for graduate students new to the field of Composition Studies to network and be invited to participate by sharing their research. Lessner will serve a three-year term on the committee from 2021-2023.
The Conference on College Composition and Communication is a 6,000-member international organization established in 1949 within the National Council of Teachers of English to promote the exchange of knowledge, support research and promote professional development in college composition, writing and communication.
