NOVAOnline to Offer Summer Workshops on Hybrid and Online Teaching–July 26, August 2

July 20, 2021 / Tech Notes & Training

Before the fall semester begins, take advantage of two workshops on hybrid and online teaching that are still available this summer. To meet college-wide training needs for new faculty who will be scheduled to teach hybrid courses in the fall, we’ve added a Hybrid Certification Course starting July 26. Another workshop, Providing Quality Feedback for Online Learners, will be available August 2 through 8.

  • Hybrid Certification Course (July 26 – Aug. 22)
  • Providing Quality Feedback for Online Learners (Aug. 2 – 8)

Providing feedback is an essential component of teaching to help students identify areas for improvement and maximize potential at different stages of learning. Research shows that feedback on learning is directly related to learning effectiveness and students’ satisfaction in online courses. This workshop will discuss different types of feedback and strategies to engage students in learning. After the workshop, faculty will be able to identify effective feedback strategies to help all students learn and develop different methods to provide quality feedback online.

Both workshops are asynchronous and available online in Canvas. Faculty can learn anywhere anytime based on their personal schedule to complete learning activities by the due dates. You can visit the site at http://nvcc.gosignmeup.com and register through Hybrid Teaching and Online Teaching on the left navigation menu. Questions? Contact Hong Wang at hwang@nvcc.edu.
