Now Hiring Work-Study Students for Fall 2021!

July 22, 2021 / General NOVA News

Over 400 eligible students have been offered work-study awards for fall 2021. Would you like to hire one or more of them to work in your office? If so, it could be a win-win situation for you and the student(s) you hire!

You could get extra help in your office, and students would have the opportunity to earn additional funds toward their educational expenses while building valuable employment skills. Students will be paid $12-$13 per hour this fall and can work up to 15 hours per week beginning as early as August 13.

To recruit work-study students, post the position you would like to fill on the Job-X employment website by following the instructions provided in the User’s Guide. Students who were offered work-study awards can then apply for your position.

When you determine whom you would like to hire, complete the work-study agreement with each student.  Students who have not participated in the Work-Study Program within the last 12 months will also need to complete the work-study employment packet.  All employment forms should be submitted to your Campus Work-Study Coordinator in the Financial Aid Office.

If students are interested in working on campus, but do not have a work-study award posted on their NOVAConnect account under View Financial Aid, please encourage them to contact their Campus Work-Study Coordinator to confirm eligibility.  Students must apply for financial aid for 2021-2022, have unmet financial need, enroll in at least six eligible credits, and meet the Satisfactory Academic Progress requirements to potentially qualify for a federal work-study award.
