Nighthawk Days with G3 Initiative Resources Available, July 28
With the fall 2021 session approaching quickly, NOVA will host its final Nighthawk Day on Wednesday, July 28. The additional open house and registration event will give students and their families an opportunity to learn more about Governor Northam’s G3 Initiative, which makes it possible for Virginians with low or modest income to pursue jobs in high-demand fields. G3 students can select from a list of approved programs in five high-need career areas: Healthcare, Information Technology, Manufacturing and Skilled Trades, Early Childhood Education and Public Safety.
NOVA’s G3 information tables will feature knowledgeable staff–including G3 advisors and academic program representatives–who can walk students through how a G3 scholarship could make community college possible on a timeline that works for them (full time, part time, a few weeks or a few years). Financial Aid representatives will also be available to provide students help with the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)/G3 eligibility requirements.
Students and their families can visit the campuses anytime from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m. on Wednesday, July 28. They will also have the chance to tour the campus; receive help with registration and class selection; get assistance with Financial Aid, tuition payment and scholarships; and learn more about clubs and student activities. Free parking will be available as well.
