HR Training Modules Available

Human Resources has developed online training modules that are designed to help employees familiarize themselves with key HR processes, as well as to provide important resources.

Available Modules
There are currently six online HR modules available in Canvas. Please access the training module(s) that are relevant to your role and employment classification, not every employee is required to view all available modules.

  1. Time & Leave for Supervisors. All supervisors are expected to (re)view this training to ensure they understand the time and leave approval processes, expectations and consequences of not approving time and leave whenever necessary. If you have previously attended one of the live sessions offered this past spring by Human Resources, you are not required to view the online module again. However, the training is available to you to access as a resource as needed.
  1. Time and Leave for Faculty. This module reviews time and leave expectations for all full-time and adjunct faculty.
  1. Time and Leave for Classified Staff. This module reviews time and leave expectations for all classified (P-3) employees.
  1. Time and Leave for P-14s. This module reviews time and leave expectations for all wage/P-14s employees, including student hires.
  1. Teleworking for Success. This module discusses the available telework options, telework agreement process, expectations and responsibilities for both supervisors and employees, tips for establishing telework for success and FAQs. Employees who are currently or will be teleworking should view this module. If you have attended the live session in April 2021, you are not required to view the online module again, but you are encouraged to do so as needed.
  1. Onboarding Essentials. This module targets supervisors and those who are involved in the on-boarding process for new employees. It focuses on how to develop a strategic plan to help new employees adjust to their role.

How to Access Training
Register for the training through GoSignMeUp (GSMU) at https://nvcc.gosignmeup.com/, select Human Resources from the left menu option then click Training to register. Please review the step-by-step instructions at http://tiny.cc/novagosignmeup should you have questions regarding the registration process. For additional assistance with GSMU, please contact edtechhelp@nvcc.edu. Upon successfully registering, you will be granted access to the training in Canvas.

Please complete the modules at your earliest convenience. Training records do not need to be sent to Human Resources. You can view your completion status at any time under “My Grades.”
