Dr. Frances Villagran-Glover to Leave NOVA for Presidency of Houston CC
Congratulations to Dr. Frances Villagran-Glover, vice president for enrollment management and student success, on being named the next president of Houston Community College’s Southeast Campus!
Dr. Villagran-Glover served as a dean at NOVA for over a decade before joining the Houston system as an associate vice chancellor in 2017, returning to our college as vice president in 2019. In every position, she has put students first; and her dedication to their success has always been a hallmark of her work. As many of you know, Dr. Villagran-Glover is a Texas native, so in re-joining Houston Community College, she will be returning home.
She will begin her presidency in October and will be with us through September, so we will be able to celebrate and appreciate Dr. Villagran-Glover’s many accomplishments at NOVA in the coming weeks. I know you join me in thanking her for her service to our college and students, and in wishing her the very best as she takes on this new leadership role.
With her departure, NOVA is seeking an interim vice president for enrollment management and student success to serve from approximately September 15 to December 31, 2021.
The interim vice president must hold a doctoral degree from a regionally-accredited institution and have experience in working within at least one of the areas within student services. In addition, the interim dean must have at least four years of progressive administrative responsibility, including program oversight, personnel supervision and budget management.
The interim vice president will serve as a member of Administrative Council with all associated responsibilities and will report to the President. Acting pay, in accordance with VCCS policy, will be provided for the duration of this appointment.
NOVA employees who meet these qualifications, understand the requirements and wish to be considered for the role of interim vice president for enrollment management and student success should submit a one-page letter of interest to Corinne Hurst [churst@nvcc.edu] in the President’s Office no later than Monday, August 23, at 5 p.m. The interim vice president will be selected and appointed by the President from the pool of qualified individuals expressing interest.
Please Note: This announcement does not constitute or replace the full search for the NOVA Vice President of Enrollment Management and Student Success. A national search based on the complete EWP for this position will be conducted by NOVA during fall 2021. If the interim vice president meets all criteria outlined in the formal posting, this individual is eligible to apply. The expectation is that the successful candidate in the national search will begin their appointment as vice president of enrollment management and student success in January 2022.
