Direct Enrollment Webinar, Today at 2
NOVA faculty and staff are invited to attend a Direct Enrollment Webinar following Convocation Today at 2 p.m. The VCCS has implemented a new Direct Enrollment placement process for students enrolling in English and Math courses. The goal of Direct Enrollment is to maximize the opportunity for success in college-level Math and English by allowing students to enroll in Math and English courses for which they are most adequately prepared. The process for Direct Enrollment starts immediately after a student applies to NOVA. Students receive a congratulatory admissions letter and are then directed to fill out the advising survey using their MyNOVA credentials.
Recent high school graduates within the past 5 years are placed based on their high school GPA and standardized test scores (SAT/ACT/GED). Students who graduated from high school more than 5 years ago will use an informed self-placement survey which provides the student with examples of English and Math problems that will assist them in evaluating their academic readiness.
Please join Deans Jen Daniels and Alison Thimblin for an informative Zoom Webinar explaining the new VCCS Direct Enrollment placement process:
