Campus Digital Media System Feeds Returning

August 20, 2021 / General NOVA News

As students, faculty and staff make their way back to campuses, NOVA is restoring campus-specific feeds to the Digital Media System (DMS) appearing on college hallway monitors. Both college-wide and campus-specific slides will live in a single unified window across all DMS monitors, while a smaller window will display a timely and static slide college-wide.

As always, all slides, including those specific to campuses, must adhere to the College’s DMS Guidelines and brand policies. To aid with meeting these requirements, templates have been created that will make your life easier and that meet technical and brand specifications. You can find these on NOVA’s Brand Microsite.

The communications team oversees the posting of college-wide DMS slides, including those posted to the smaller window. Campus Community Outreach personnel will continue to post campus-specific slides to their respective feeds as they did prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, with those slides entering rotation in the larger window along with college-wide slides. There will no longer be a third window on DMS monitors that broadcasts CNN or other TV news channels.

The allocation and distribution of slides between the larger and smaller windows is subject to future change, depending on circumstances.

If campus-specific slides do not adhere to the DMS Guidelines, the Comm team will work with staff to bring the slides within college standards in order to prevent their removal.
