Summer 2021 Courses Closed

August 23, 2021 / Tech Notes & Training

All Summer 2021 Canvas courses were closed at midnight on August 15. Courses now reside in the Past Enrollments area of the Canvas courses list and are accessible only in a read-only state. They may still be viewed and used for imports, but will no longer be active for student submissions or grading.

If you have a student with an Incomplete that needs access to the class, you will need to issue the Incomplete in the SIS for the student to continue to have access to the course.

Once the Incomplete has been processed in the SIS, the instructor and the student(s) will continue to work out of the original course. They are just moved to a new section called Incomplete and this section closes out on last day of the next semester. This sync will transfer over to Canvas within 24 hours after processing in the SIS. If the Incomplete is not processed through the SIS, any students with Incompletes will not be able to access the course.

There is nothing further the instructor needs to do for that student to access the course, however some assignments with availability windows may not be accessible. The instructor needs to review assignment availability windows to make sure the student can access the content and assessments that they need access to. These updated availability windows will ONLY be available to those students who have Incompletes.
